Never allow your Web Browser to Save your Password – Here is Why?

Password, the only way to protect your online accounts and those accounts can be compromised easily with our own mistakes. Even we can make strong passwords (upper and lower cases with mixed symbols). Previously we have explained “How to Secure your Password?“.

Well, In this article, I’m going to tell you about the mistake almost every internet user do. Never save your password in your web browser as it can be easily recover.

Sure, it is no doubt that it is convenient to store password and we can login easily in the next login but there are some negative effects of this. Browser is not as much secure as you think as they are always connected with the internet and can be easily compromised.

Here is how easily you can view your saved passwords

  1. Open Chrome.
  2. Click the Menu button and select Settings.
  3. Scroll to Autofill and click Passwords.
  4. Locate the password you want to view and click the “eye” icon (Figure A).
  5. On the Linux operating system, you will not be prompted for a user password. On macOS and Windows, you will be required to authenticate the user before passwords will be listed.
  6. Enjoy that password.

To do the same trick in Firefox, do the following:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Open the Menu and select Preferences.
  3. Click Privacy & Security (from the left pane).
  4. Scroll to Logins & Passwords.
  5. Click Saved Logins.
  6. Click Show Passwords.
  7. Enjoy your passwords.

Now follow the steps to visible your saved password in Safari Browser

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Click the Safari menu in the top bar and select Preferences.
  3. Click the Passwords tab.
  4. When prompted either type your password, or use the fingerprint sensor (if available).
  5. Click on the website you want to view.
  6. Enjoy that password.
